Have you ever met someone and gotten the impression that the person isn’t quite cooking on all four burners? Admittedly, that’s just an old saying that might be funny depending on the situation – but it can also be true – and sad – because when the brain begins to slow down the results can be embarrassing and awkward.
Perhaps you’ve noticed that your mom doesn’t always remember her doctor appointments or your dad is misplacing the car keys or his cell phone too often.
Because millions of people from the baby boomer generation are getting older, their brain function has been the target of numerous research articles. And the conclusions aren’t rocket science – basically it’s as we get older and start slowing down physically, our brain function starts slowing down too.
You know what I’m talking about... those senior moments
that start coming more often. Not the scary stuff that signals dangerous cognitive territory when someone’s memory function is deteriorating rapidly. That’s disease or disorder territory and it needs to be handled accordingly. I’m talking about staying sharp.💡
